Lucy Sturgis (Hallett) Tilton's Death Notice Found

Joshua Hallett, Jr. and his wife Sophronia Mann Dyer were the parents of 13 children. Joshua and Sophronia lived on Cape Cod, Massachusetts where most of their children also continued to live throughout their lives. Their ninth child was Lucy Sturgis Hallett, born 2 March 1849 in Massachusetts. She married William Henry Tilton. Unfortunately Lucy died young (age 23) on 5 April 1872. Her five-month-old son, Joseph W. Tilton, had died the month before. Lucy's and the infant's death announcements were recently found in the Barnstable Patriot of 23 April 1872.
